Wicca is a new religious movement which draws from the pre-Christian religions of Europe, the feminist spirituality movement, ecological sensibilities, and the Western magical traditions. Open to both women and men and the gamut of sexualities and gender identities, Wicca explicitly celebrates "all acts of love and pleasure" as acts of praise to the divine. Wicca is based in practice rather than belief, with the experiences of ritual, trance, and ecstatic communion with the Gods being the centre and a wide range of acceptable beliefs about the nature of the divine. Small group work and individual practice is much more common than larger Temple and public service organizations.
